1.) What is IVE? / Che cos’è IVE?
IVE is a free weekly meeting, open to the public, where participants can speak English together with the help of a professional teacher from California. It was founded in 2017 because there aren’t many opportunities in Verona to speak English in a friendly but private environment. We have a selection of wines available during the event that our participants usually bring to share with the group. The event is held on a private terrace, not a public venue like a bar or cafe. Because you meet so many new people, IVE also serves as a good networking opportunity for professionals, or just people looking to make new friends. In brief, that means you come, you have a drink, you speak English with some help if you need it, and you make some new friends! That’s it!

IVE è un evento gratuito, aperto al pubblico, che permette ai partecipanti di parlare inglese con l’aiuto di un insegnante dalla California. E’ nato nel 2017 dalla necessità di offrire a Verona un ambiente informale e privato dove praticare il proprio inglese. Di solito i partecipanti portano con sé una bottiglia di vino da condividere con il gruppo, quindi abbiamo sempre una selezione di vini disponibile. L’evento si svolge in un terrazzo di una casa privata, non in un locale pubblico quale un bar. IVE è anche l’occasione per incontrare nuove persone e professionisti nella zona, o semplicemente per fare amicizia. Per riassumere: ogni settimana bevi qualcosa con noi, parli inglese, con l’aiuto di un insegnante se necessario, e conosci nuovi amici. Tutto qui!

2.) Where is the event? / Dove si svolge l’evento?
It is in Borgo Venezia, Verona. The full address for the event will be emailed to you automatically after you make a reservation. The address is not publicly available because the event is held on a private terrace, not in a public bar, cafe, or other venue.

L’evento si tiene a Verona, nel quartiere di Borgo Venezia. L’indirizzo completo ti sarà inviato via mail automaticamente a seguito della prenotazione. L’indirizzo non è pubblico in quanto l’evento si tiene in un terrazzo privato, non in un bar o un locale.

3.) Is a reservation necessary to come? / E’ necessaria la prenotazione?
Yes, it is. We require a reservation because the event is held on a private terrace, and the number of participants must be limited to respect our neighbors. To make your reservation, either go to our Facebook event page, or visit invinoenglish.eventbrite.it.

Sì. La prenotazione è obbligatoria in quanto l’evento si tiene in una terrazza privata e il numero di partecipanti deve essere limitato per il rispetto dei vicini. Per prenotare, clicca sul pulsante “Prenota ora” sulla nostra pagina Facebook oppure visita il sito invinoenglish.eventbrite.it.

4.) Is the event really free? / L’evento è gratuito?
Yes, it is. There is no cost to come. You only need to make a reservation for a seat through our Facebook event page, or on Eventbrite at invinoenglish.eventbrite.it.

Assolutamente sì. Non c’è nessun costo. Devi semplicemente prenotare cliccando sul pulsante “Prenota subito” sulla nostra pagina Facebook oppure su Eventbrite al seguente link: invinoenglish.eventbrite.it.

5.) When is the event? Do I have to arrive at a specific time? / A che ora inizia?
It is once per week, either on Wednesdays or Thursdays, from 8:30pm to 11pm. You do not have to arrive at 8:30pm precisely, simply any time between 8:30 and 11pm.

Una volta alla settimana, mercoledì oppure giovedì, dalle 20:30 alle 23:00. Non devi presentarti alle 20:30 in punto, ma in un qualsiasi orario tra le 20:30 e le 23:00.

6.) Should I bring food or drinks? / Devo portare qualcosa da mangiare o da bere?
Bringing food or drinks, like snacks or bottles of wine, is not obligatory. However, most participants choose to bring something to share with the group. We have several wine producers from Verona that participate, and often bring their special wines for everyone to try. The choice is yours!

Portare cibo e bevande, come ad esempio snack e bottiglie di vino, non è obbligatorio. La maggior parte dei partecipanti porta comunque qualcosa da condividere con il gruppo. Molti produttori di vino partecipano all’evento e portano una selezione dei loro prodotti. La scelta è tua!

7.) How many people can I bring? / Quante persone posso portare?
You can bring as many as you please. However, you can only get a maximum of 4 tickets per reservation. To do so, just add extra tickets to your reservation. If you would like more than 4 tickets, you will have to make a second reservation.

Puoi portare quante persone vuoi. C’è però un limite di 4 biglietti per prenotazione. Non devi fare altro che aggiungere più di un biglietto alla tua prenotazione. Se vuoi prenotare più di 4 biglietti dovrai fare una seconda prenotazione.

8.) What do I do if I have to cancel? / Come posso fare per cancellare la prenotazione?
To cancel your reservations, just send us an email at ive@hawkinsenglish.com, or a message here on Facebook. You can also contact us through our WhatsApp group if you have joined it after your first event. We ask that people cancel within 6 hours of the event.

Per cancellare la tua prenotazione, mandaci una mail al seguente indirizzo: ive@hawkinsenglish.com, oppure scrivici qui su Facebook. Potrai anche contattarci tramite il nostro gruppo Whatsapp, al quale sarai invitato dopo il tuo primo IVE. Chiediamo di cancellare la prenotazione entro 6 ore dall’evento.

9.) What happens if it rains, is very cold outside, or the event is canceled? / Cosa succede in caso di pioggia o di cancellazione?
In the case of light rain or cold, the event will still be held, as we have a gazebo to cover the area and a heater. In the case of heavy rain or extreme cold, we usually go to our second home at Rocket Radio in Veronetta. If the event needs to be canceled or postponed for any reason, an email is sent to everyone who has reserved, and a Facebook post is put up as soon as possible.

L’evento si tiene ugualmente in caso di pioggia leggera, in quanto siamo attrezzati con un gazebo e una stufa a fungo. Nel caso di pioggia o freddo intenso, l’evento potrà essere spostato presso Rocket Radio a Veronetta, via Arduino 6B. Nell’eventualità che l’evento sia cancellato o spostato per qualsiasi motivo, sarà comunicato tramite mail a tutti coloro che hanno effettuato la prenotazione e tramite un post pubblico su Facebook.
